Wednesday May 08, 2019
Wednesday May 08, 2019
We sit down with our first interview not about someone else, but we meet a badass woman from current history herself..Darby Wilcox. Darby has been a fixture in the Greenville music scene for years and along with being an excellent singer/songwriter, she is just a really cool person. We talk the local scene, her past and how growing up in church life influenced her and how far we have come and how much farther we can go.
Her song "Only Me" is the intro/outtro and stay for the end to hear the whole thing unedited.
Check out her website here
And as always..we hope you got lucky tonight!

The Lucky Ten Thousand - Episode 16: Phobias
Wednesday Oct 07, 2015
Wednesday Oct 07, 2015
Kicking off the month of Halloween, we decided to avoid the more standard fare of horror movies and costumes. Instead we take a brief glimpse into the world of true fear: phobias. Drawing from the exhaustive list found courtesy of phobialist.com, we look at fears both perfectly understandable and wildly outlandish.
Carissa shares a bit of her personal experience with irrational fear and Evan marvels at all the things of which he can, thankfully, say he isn't afraid.
For reference (phobic trigger warning), here is the Great Mole Rat and the quintessential image for thalassophobia.
Do you have any phobias? Let us know, either by email or via Twitter. Happy October, everyone!

The Lucky Ten Thousand - Episode 7: Serial Killers
Wednesday Aug 05, 2015
Wednesday Aug 05, 2015
We go disturbing and creepy this week as Evan and Carissa explore the enduring fascination with serial killers. Ranging from well-known Jack the Ripper to surprisingly obscure Elizabeth Bathory with several stops in between, we discuss the deeds (and misdeeds) of some of history's most notorious murderers. Why are people so captivated by the dark and horrible exploits of our most broken fellows? What makes an unsolvable crime so enthralling? Myths and legends surrounding killers of old still spark interest in our modern minds, and Evan digs deep into these mysteries to puzzle out why.
Even just yesterday, HuffPo published an article about an author trying to uncover facts about Jack the Ripper, furthering proof that our collective curiosity never fades.
